Weekly Photo
Here is a fresh photo that I shot on May 11 but just got around to processing. I was driving near Turner Valley when I saw this horse standing in a field. I was drawn by the horse’s colours and spun the car around and made a quick snapshot with a hand held 70-200mm lens (1/640 at f5). I jumped back in the vehicle and was off. I totally forgot about the shot until I downloaded the images later. I like the image because the horse is sharp against a painterly blurred background. To draw more attention to the horse I selected the background and desaturated the colours and added a little more blur in Photoshop.

A memorable photograph. A slice of Americana. Fine art at it’s very best.

WOW! Your imagery is nothing less than that of Michelangelo. I am always in awe. Testament to ALWAYS having your camera with you – never know what might appear just around the corner.

Hi Darwin,
The post-processing work really does make the horse stand out from the background. It is a beautiful horse. The image has a nice “texture” to it with the grass and trees and a peaceful feel to it.
