The Daily Snap – March 18

©Darwin Wiggett - Canon G9

Here is a ‘snap’ from the archives. I took this two summers ago on a trip to B.C., the Yukon, and Alaska. On this month long trip I took so many photos that the volume was a bit overwhelming. So I put all the photos away to look at later once the freshness of the trip wore off. Well it is now almost two years later! I guess the images are not that fresh anymore. I am just now getting around to edit and process the images. Now that I  look at these images with ‘fresh’ eyes, I realize most of the stuff is not as good as I thought it was right after the trip. I will be using the delete key a whole lot during the editing process. This one of the Salmon Glacier in B.C. is a ‘keeper’ from the G9 photos. I will scatter some of my G9 snaps from this trip here in the Daily Snap to shake things up a little over the next month.

  1. I love all the patterns and textures in this. It’s a very fascinating image.

  2. Wow that’s a mindbender! Very cool, something that deserves a long look to take in.🙂

  3. Simple but compelling. One of my favorite compositional tools is lines. Question; how did you hold back the glare of the glacier? Did you use a grad filter or any post-processing.

    randy

  4. definitely a keeper! it’s hard to tell if the glacier is going off into the distance or rising up above the trees, making the shot very interesting. the treeline is perfect, too. nice.

  5. Those lines are pretty darn cool
