Ice Rink on Emerald Lake

This photograph of Emerald Lake was taken after Christmas in 2004, which was during the NHL strike/lockout that ended in the loss of the entire season. Here was a “pond” rink, in Canada, in one of the most breath-taking locations imaginable, with no one playing hockey. As if they stopped playing hockey throughout the nation. Canon 300D + EF-S 18-55/3.5-5.6 @18.0 mm, f13.0, 1/13 second, ISO 100 (tripod), December 30, 2004.

  1. Ah, now this is a great Canadian landscape photo and poignant in its message. Let’s hope greed like that doesn’t happen again.
