The Daily Snap – March 28

A lot of people think that being a nature photographer is super glamorous and must be a great way to earn a living. Most people think it must be like a permanent vacation. If your vacations are spent getting up at 4AM and going to bed at 11PM, if you usually sleep in your vehicle or have an occasional luxurious night in a tent, if you shower once a week (maybe) and if you eat gourmet meals like the one shown above… well then you are ready for the permanent vacation of nature photography.

The photo above is a typical supper for Sam and I while we were on the month long trip to the Yukon and Alaska.

  1. Tasty! Sounds fun, but also like it gets exhausting pretty quickly!

  2. WHAT!!?? You mean you don’t drive around in a 35 ft luxurious RV with a slide out kitchen and 3 TV’s!?

  3. Mmmm… My road trip food usually consists of the cheapest bread I can find along with discounted peanut butter for breakfast, followed by Mr. Noodle (or No Name brand) for lunch, finished off with Minute Rice and Pasta sauce for dinner, sometimes I put the rice and sauce on bread to make a sandwich, if I have enough bread. I admire the addition of a vegetable in your meal Darwin, I never thought of that!

And sleeping in your van next to a frozen lake in the middle of winter is Sooooo much fun!! All this, just for a hobby I love!! Doesn’t get any better!! JL
