The Canadian Landscape Contest – Jan Forseth

This is a portion of the large multiple-leap waterfall known as Tangle Falls. It was taken in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It was a joy to feel the coolness of this waterfall as I climbed up each level. I was looking for just the right place to get a nice angle and diagonals. This particular leap fit my vision. I converted the image to black and white.

  1. You don’t see too many waterfalls in b/w, which is a shame. The tones here make the photo so graphic yet organic at the same time. I love the different areas of transparency and depth. Really lovely.
