The Canadian Landscape Contest – Joel Todd

Here is a photo that I took this past November. Like many places we had a very strange (and warm) winter. This is up in the hills of were I live the interior of British Columbia. There isn’t a lot of snow but I like the touch the small bit adds. It a bit of a “dirty” shot but it works with the fog. This shot seems a bit like this past winter; the weather doesn’t know what to do. I love the atmosphere of it. A bit harsh with mysterious mixed in for good measure.

This reminds me of the style in Emily Carr’s work. Very nice!

Good job Joel! I really like how you captured the sun shining only on the hill and the contrast of the trees against it… love the effect of the fog.

  3. Wow that’s beautiful!!!!!!!!!!
