The Daily Snap – April 29

©Darwin Wiggett - Canon G11

The gnarly cherry tree. This old tree really has character. While scouting for locations for the Burlington photo tours, we came across these great trees. This was shot at mid-day with an overcast sky. Whenever I have a colourless sky rather than not photograph at all, I make a snapshot and then later convert the colour image to B+W to see if it works. I liked the way this one turned out in the conversion to B+W. I also used fill flash on the G11 to add some detail into the tree trunk

  1. Hello Darwin!

I really like your Daily-Snap, and what a great idea to convert them to B&W!

Where is your scouting location (if I can ask), is it in a national park?

    Have a good day,
    Anne J.
