The Daily Snap – June 1

No it is not Halloween. This was taken during my outing with the Edson Camera Club. We were playing with long exposures at dusk and ‘pop and drag’ flash. Here we had Sean, the president of the club, lay by a headstone and we ‘popped’ him with flash during the 5 second exposure. As soon as the flash popped, Sean ‘dragged’ himself up and out of the frame so the grasses beneath him would be exposed by the ambient light. The result is a ghosted image. Lots of fun!

Something I learned on your tours, “try new things you wouldn’t normally do”. We did this in Yellowknife when we were shooting the Aurora, so we have portraits of us with the Aurora glowing right through us. Lots of fun, thanks for your inspiration!
