The Daily Snap – June 4

©Darwin Wiggett - Canon G11

This one was taken yesterday at the end of my Spring Rockies Photo Tour. We had a great time and saw about 6-8 bear a day and we had everything from snow and rain to sun and sunrises. This one is from Whirlpool Point on the Kootenay Plains showing the North Saskatchewan River in the foreground and Mount Peskett in the background. Click on the photo to see the image larger.

  1. Stunning shot. Absolutely breathtaking. What a majestic landscape!

  2. Nice one Darwin, love that composition. Man that water is really low!

  3. Fantastic shot with a Canon G11. I own one also, and love the capability of this wee camera….Truly Photographic Art……

  4. The S-curve in the forground adds so much and is nicely juxtaposed with the strong horizontals beyond. Really lovely shot, Darwin!

  5. Darwin, the top part of this photo is amazing. The color, the sky, and of coarse, the mountains are incredible. It’s amazing how the trees are leaning to the left. Are they just growing that way? I wish the foreground was as good as the rest of the scene. It seems to take away from the rest of the image. The gray dirt and rocks just don’t seem to help a lot. Do you have other images with different foreground? Maybe, it would be nice to crop out the lake and have a photo of only the mountains and forest.

  6. OMG, you saw bears, amazing. My husband and I are both planning on attending your photo tours don’t know when but one of these days we will. It’s on our list of things to do. Beautiful shot too🙂

  7. Absolutely gorgeous! Hope to make it next spring to your Spring Rockies Photo Tour.

  8. Great shot! Love the soft green of the trees.
