Travel Photo Contest – Phil Hoffman

I was hoping to get some photos of spring migrants (the birds were doing the travelling, not me) when a snow shower came along. These mallard drakes weren’t bothered in the least. There were four of them lined up for a few seconds but odd numbers of subjects usually seem more balanced so this one with three ducks was my choice. When one of the birds seemed to buck the trend of butts up, I figured this was the time to press the shutter.
