The Daily Snap – July 25

©Darwin Wiggett - Canon G11

I love the tilt-swivel screen on the Canon G11 so I can get wonky under angle views of flowers in the forest. Without the swivel screen I would never be able to see how to compose this photo where the camera was essentially held on the ground and pointed up to the flower. I also used -1 2/3rd’s EV fill flash to light up the flower. The combo of the tilt-swivel LCD, great macro mode and built-in flash makes making wildflower photos a ‘snap’ (bad pun, I know). This Columbine photo was taken on the Berg Lake Trail in Mount Robson Provincial Park

  1. Very cool! I love it!

  2. That’s a really interesting flower.

  3. wonderful image. I am surprised about the pleasing and not too harsh flash light of this compact cam

  4. Fantstic perspective on this! You’ve made the columbine look ENORMOUS! Those not familiar would be surprised to see the actual size of this woodland flower.
