Travel Photo Contest – Vincent Besanceney

The Beara Peninsula, Cork Co., Ireland, is often overlooked in favor of the more touristic ring of Kerry. I found in Beara ones of the most stunning landscapes of Ireland, not to mention the History of this peninsula, full of myths, legends, and well-preserved archaeological sites. I shot this picture in the Ballydonegan Bay, along the ring of Beara. This rock formation really hooked me. This was the perfect spot to show the beauty of this rugged costline, as well as to convey a sense of mystery and faerie that would resonate with the myths and legends of the place. Luckily enough, the weather was pretty clement that day.
