Inspirations – Doug Steakley

Nikon D3 shot at 1/6 sec at f/16 ISO 200

This was taken in the Masai Mara in Kenya. We followed this mother and her single cub for over an hour, taking many shots, but this was my best one. She probably lost the other babies to predators and was very protective of this one. You can see it in the most recent NANPA exhibition catalog. ~ Doug Steakley

So refreshing to see, not only, a wild animal shot done in black/white but done so dramatically. I feel like I’m seeing with him not just AT him.
