This image was been taken in the new Guillemins railway station in Liège, Belgium. The station is a creation of the famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and was finished last year. My aim was to capture the clock and the line structure of the roof behind. It’s a single shot. I wanted the emphasize the symmetry in it and turned the original color image into B/W to emphasize the lines and the graphic character of the architecture. ~ Jef van den Houte

  1. Calgary will “soon” have our own Calatrava to photograph when the Peace Bridge is finished. Below is from Wikipedia (note the bridge is not opened yet):
Calatrava’s design for the Peace Bridge, a 130m pedestrian bridge to span the Bow River in downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada, will cost approximately $24.5 million. The project was approved by city council in early January 2009 and is scheduled for completion in fall 2010.

  2. Great capture and well seen.
