Fabulous Film Fridays – October 28, 2011

In early September, Samantha, Hiroaki Kobayashi and I went on an afternoon film outing at the RancheHouse in Cochrane, Alberta. Both Sam and Hiro shot with their 4×5 view cameras while I used Linny, my Linhof 6×12 panorama camera. Sam posted her results last week and you can see Hiro’s results at this link. Below are my three favorite shots from the session. Click on each image to see a much larger version.

  1. Looks and sounds like you guys had a fun and productive trip! I especially like your first shot, with the dappled light and your third shot of the footbridge.

  2. Such gorgeous light and tones. I can see these images blown up to 8 feet long, hanging in a place of pride.

  3. As always I really enjoy your shots! Great tonal range and colour pallette!

  4. Thanks, Darwin. It was fun evening; also taking photos with only 4×5 in a Public Park was quite challenging. It must be good training for everybody. I really like combination of shadows and lights in your photos, also the pattern of the trees in top one and shape of the root in middle one. Beautiful tones and crisp sharpness. Who said film is dead?

  5. Love your composition, Darwin, what could have been overloaded, became a work of art.
