LLTL Monthly Photo Contest – Summer Contest

Rather than have two separate photo contests for July and August I am combining them into one larger photo contest for the summer. Here are the entry details:

ThemeIntimate Landscapes. Any landscape photo that shows an area larger than a piece of standard paper but that does not include the sky (reflections of the sky or clouds in water are fine though, just no actual sky in the image please). For examples see here and here and here. Images can show natural landscapes, urban landscapes, rural landscapes… just make the view intimate… and personal.

How to Enter – send me a JPEG no larger than 400 pixels wide, include a link to a larger version of the photo on your website or blog if you have one. Also include a short paragraph about the photo either about how you took the image or why the image resonates with you. Send entries to wiggett@telusplanet.net – please only one entry per person.

Deadline – Midnight August 21, 2009 (MST)

Prizes:

An autographed and personalized copy of Guy Tal’s Exposures: Views from Both Sides of the Camera – for a review see here

A copy of David duChemin’s Within the Frame: The Journey of Photographic Vision. Thanks to Anil Sud for donating this prize! To learm more about David’s fine books go here

The Judge: I am honored that Guy Tal, a master of the intimate landscape, has agreed to be the judge for this month’s competition
